The weekend just passed saw the 12th running of the ‘Rally of the Tests’ and Mini Sport supported Steve Entwistle was competing in his ‘Orange Box’ Mini Cooper. He is one of many Minis competing this year and Mini Sport have also helped one of these other Mini competitors prepare for this years event too with Stephen Owens having payed us a visit for a Rolling Road setup.
The Rally of the Tests is a real classic, covering many of the UKs more famous rallying routes, venturing into Wales, Lancashire, Cumbria and Yorkshire. The driving is spread across three days with the first day taking them from Chester to Stoke, Day 2 from Stoke to Windermere and the final day was to finish in Harrogate.
Steve Entwistle and Co-Driver Bob Hargreaves had high hopes of putting in a competitive performance and finished well in 9th place overall and were only the second Mini to finish behind Frank Lenehan and Cath Woodman but unfortunately the Mini of Stephen Owens/Dale Errock was one of 12 who retired from the event. The overall winner was the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint of Paul Wignall/Mark Appleton.
