As the HRCR Mintex ‘Old STAGER’ Championship 2015 incorporating the Mini Sport Mini Cup begins the crews head to Wales to compete in the first round of the Rally North Wales, this will be followed by five additional rounds across the forthcoming season, which will include the Dixies Historic Challenge, the Red Dragon IT Stages, the Sweet Lamb Historic Rally, the Isle of Man Rally and eventually the Cambrian. The Championship will be open to Category 1,2,3 & 4 historic specification cars with separate awards for each category and the opportunity for Mini drivers to take the Mini Sport Mini Cup. As always the championship will adhere to the MSA Historic Rules and regulations for Motorsport.

Competitors head to Rally north Wales to contest the The HRCR Mintex ‘old STAGER’ Championship 2015 incorporating the Mini Sport Mini Challenge and The HRCR Imp Cup On March 28th 2015 a potential fourteen crews will head to Dolgellau to contest the first round of The HRCR Mintex ‘old STAGER’ Championship 2015 incorporating the Mini Sport Mini Challenge and The HRCR Imp Cup. The rally based at Dolgellau will be using the famous rally driver and bus driver, Gywndaff Evans, Ford dealership as a HQ, signing on and the Farmers market as the service area and scrutineering for the duration of the event. There will be designated spectators stages and the rally will be using many famous stages including Big Ray and Dyfi.
The stages have been described as the best they have ever been. Many familiar names will be seen on the stages including Category one hopeful Graham Waite and Gill Cotton in the Volvo Amazon, Gwilym Roberts and Jane Edgington in their MK1 Escort and Geoff Taylor and Steve Greenhill in the Imp sport.
In Category two reining British Rally Champions David Stokes and Guy Weaver in their Ford Escort MKI will be in battle against Peter McDowell and Co-Driver Derek Davies in the Porsche 911 and Ian Barnes and Robert Gilham in their MK1 Escort. Contesting Category three, Lee Sellars and Peter Alldread in their Triumph MKII PI will go head to head with father and son pairing of Stuart Anderson and Jack Anderson in their Vauxhall Chevette. Stephen Jumbo Richards co driven by Andrew Richards in a Escort MK1 RS2000 will complete the Cat three for the HRCR Mintex ‘Old Stager’ Championship The Mini Sport Mini cup has a good entry for the first round, which should see good competition, and close stage times being achieved by all the crews.
Latest championship registrants Eric Davis and Co Driver Russell Joseph will be in his clubman. Clive King will have Anton Bird sat in with him and Andrew O’Hanlon and James Crook will be making a return to the championship. Brue Mills and Paul Kendrick, Shane Gamble and Jonny ‘TAD’ Evans, Paul Price and Phil Swanborough will complete the Mini show case line up. The event will start at 0900 hrs on the Saturday morning with start ramp in the town center. It will finish around 14:30 on Saturday afternoon.
