The weekend before last was the beginning of the Mighty Mini championship and Jonathan Lewis was there to start it off for us. He hasn’t raced for a while and wanted to get off to a good start but found himself very frustrated at only qualifying in 12th, his worst ever in a Mini.

In-between qualifying he steadied himself and had a few words with other regular drivers in the championship and picked up some tips before putting them into practice in the race. Competitors must have quickly regretted this however as he flew through the field, overtaking several times around the outside of cascades corner to finish in a very respectable 4th and earning a standing ovation from those who were spectating at cascades.

The season ahead looks promising but he wont be making the trip to Castle Combe due to other commitments, but will be using the time wisely to make a few adjustments to his Mini, in time to attend rounds 3 and 4 at Snetterton on the 29th and 30th May.
