At the weekend two Mini Sport prepared Minis entered the Ilkley Jubilee Rally. Gerry Simpson entered with Joy Hewson in his Green 1293cc Ausitn Mini. This was a test event for them as it was the cars first time out with this engine.

John and Gill Williams also entered in their Red 1380cc  Austin Mini 1275GT and did well, securing first in class. However Gerry didn’t fair so well after taking the wrong slot and receiving a thirty minute penalty but it was a successful outing as the car faired well.
