Late last week we had a Mini come in with  a unidentified problem His complaints was that when idling his car kept cutting out and losing power occasionally when reaching around 50mph. Our Mini Sport mechanic had a quick look under the bonnet. The reason for this became apparent quite quickly as the Carburettors jet tube had bent slightly. This might not seem a big problem but this will cause the choke to stay on more than it should do and therefore flooding the Carburettor.

The solution to this problem was a brand new HS4 SU Carburettor – Right Hand – LHIC – 998cc and a quick run on the rolling road to make sure it is fuelling properly.
