This Saturday Mini enthusiasts descended upon the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire, for the 2019 HRCR Open Day.

BMC Mini Team A whole heap of special guests attended to help celebrate the 60 years of Mini, including 64′ Monte Champion Paddy Hopkirk, former BMC competitions manager Stuart Turner, co-drivers Paul Easter, Willy Cave, and Mike Wood, BMC
Special Tuning manager Basil Wales, Senior Technician Den Green, Technicians Tommy Eales and Bob Whittington and also Team Manager Bill Price.

Attendees of the event were treated to an extremely special interview and chat with the BMC team, as they reminisced about the glory days and the little car that started it all, giving everyone an insider’s view in to rallying Minis in the 1960’s!

Celebrating the last decade of the Mini Cup, the day also brought together past Champions and their Minis from throughout the last 10 years – including Clive King, Eric Davis, Andrew O’Hanlon and Paul Kendrick.

Entries opened for the 2019 Championship, with a whopping 19 crews registering on the day! We’ll have 5 brand new crews joining us, with 3 of them still on with building their Minis. Of course some of our seasoned regulars will be back joining us again, as we welcome Clive King & Anton Bird, Shane Gamble & Bob Ward and John Cressey & Martin Cressey for another action-packed year of rallying.

With 9 weeks to go, our crews are now preparing for the AGBO Historic Stages – March 16th, our first round of the 2019 Championship!
